This front row rule was in addition to player injuries and the absence of others, for alternative reasons, so the 1st XV were a very depleted side, hence the decision to forfeit the game.

This is the second Competition withdrawal by BEs after the 1st XV pulled out of the RFU Senior Vase Competition in October when they had an away game at Beccles.

The 1st XV are at Haringey - New River Sports Stadium in White Hart Lane - on Saturday in a "must win well" League game. Kick-off is 3pm.
