It was hardly dry, on a pitch still a bit soft in places, preventing good running rugby, especially with a strong wind blowing down the pitch,, with the 1st team defending the "bottom" end in the first half. They had built up a 12-10 half time lead, which they expected to build upon with the elements in their favour - wind and slope - in the second half but there was no score, despite a spirited attempt by the London French, whom the team had beaten 34-5 away on 3rd October. So, the win was based on two first half tries, one converted, with the visitors kicking a penalty gal and converting a try.
It will be a drier pitch this Saturday, away to Royston (3 pm kickoff), but Therfield is very exposed so expect another wind affected game.
