The Exiles turned all possession into points, running in eight tries, five of them converted, with the first four coming inside the first 15 minutes of the second half, to kill the game, stone dead, and ensure they took maximum points on Saturday. It was not that the 1st XV played badly but they were starved of possession by a team in third place still trying for promotion. The BE players kept going bu the red onslaught from the Welsh was such that the visitors had almost 75% of second half ball and they used it to maximum effect.
Earlier, the Welsh took the lead when a centre burst through for a try although the 1st XV replied immediately, a deep kick into the opposition's 22causing mayhem and SHAUN CASSIDY was up in support to touch down with MATT HARRIS converting. BE had the better of the closing stages of the first half and, with the last kick, a penalty attempt, also by MATT HARRIS, jut went wide.
The 1st XV have to pick themselves up, from this defeat, as they now host second-placed Cheshunt at home this Saturday (9th) at 3pm. There are two more matches to play, away to Old Millhillians on the 16th and then at home to the Bank of England on the final day of the League season, 23rd.
