The match was called off as Imperial Medicals could not raise a team by Friday, thus gifting BE a bonus point win.

Last season, Imperial Medicals cancelled umpteen matches although this is the firt time they have done so this year. Whilst the maximum five points the 1st XV gains is welcome, it is irrelevant in the context of playing League rugby on the pitch throughout the season. The win keeps BE in fifth place, with one match left (away to Old Actonians on 26th April), whilst the Medicals are already relegated to HertsMiddx 2 after losing 18 of their 22 matches.

Last season, Imperial Medicals were guilty of failing to field a team for many matches and that was a crucial argument in our Appeal to the RFU in the summer. The RFU Panel accepted the principle and promised to review the situation but actually did nothing so the Medicals have repeated the problem again within one season. The two Clubs will not meet next year.

Ignore the 0-0 in the heading: the system does not allow any other result but, realistically, it should be 0-100.
