development game for both teams

Difficult to write a report for what was a essentially a development game . We tried all last season to organise a fixture against local lads Old Grammarians and having expected to lose 5 boys to county I had thought we would have had pretty evenly matched teams . However as we lost only one and with OGs short a few players Barnet were the stronger side today .

That allowed us to play new boys Al on the wing who managed to score on his debut and Oscar who once again put in a solid performance in the second row . We also tried to "condition" the game by asking Parsa and Ross not to score but instead look for the offload . Both boys did a good job in this respect but it clearly put both of them off their normal game and was clearly a little frustrating .

That said Ted Parker got some solid game time at 10 and all our boys who played for OGs really gave it their all , and really helped organise the OGs particularly in their back line . Thanks to Jacob , Yunus , Ben , Charlie , Josh and Harry .

Lewis Oliver deserves a mention for a solid first half , Louis Mcardle also for good comms but player of the day goes to Harry Joseph , scoring for both sides today and managing to hand off Parsa to set up a another beautiful try for the oppo .

Thanks to our hosts , especially to the lads who gave it their all and integrated really well with our Barnet boys who donned OGs shirts .

Looking forward to a very different game next week when Barnet really need their game heads on to stand a chance against Hemel .
