Proud day for coaches and players alike as Barnet secure their promotion .

Before the ins and outs of todays game I would like to say how proud I am of our players and coaches who demonstrated today just how far we have come . It is testament to all of their hard work and the fact that we couldn't single out a particular player of the day just reinforces the fact that the boys now play as a single unit . Its only fair to give a mention to the Ruislip boys who didn't let up and were punished from the first whistle and not able to play the game we were expecting from them .

The tone of the game was set in the first 30 seconds with a blistering tackle from Ikechi Mere securing possession for Barnet who took their time in the breakdowns , playing the slow ball and then a quick chance of direction from Cameron MacNeil and run down the wing put barnet ahead in the first 5 minutes .

One of many nice chips by Ted Parker nearly allowed him to score minutes later and Barnet's mission to keep the ball in play rewarded Dylan Jinmi with a great try at 10mins with the conversion putting Barnet 12 clear .

The next 10 minutes were tight and at times "heated" with the Barnet boys maintaining discipline and it was great to see all the subs staying on their line when eventually Ruislips frustration began to show . The opposition did get very close on a few occasions but Barnets much practices exit strategy paid off and a set play from George Fishpool running a great line rewarded Barnet with another try at 21 minutes . With a clear margin Barnet were able to control the game , make substitutions and play the game they wanted . Scrums were all secured ( not least with a solid front row ) with Usman making his match debut with Cameron off injured for a period in the first half .

The second half began with good pressure from Ruislip but with Barnet defending well and shipping the ball out to our not so secret weapon Leevin Nigimbi who weaved his way through the ruislip defence to score at 35 minutes . Still not giving up Ruislip pressured the barnet defence with a little support from the Ref but a moment of confusion from the opposition found the ball ending in Georges Fishpools hands . Rather than touching it down he took off and ran the entire length of the pitch , weaving past their 15 and scoring under the posts at the other end . Fantastic to watch .

Its fair to say in the closing minutes Ruislip did look beaten and Barnet sensing a big acre line put 2 more over the line to finish 50-0 .

A great display of team play , good hands , great pressure and good control . There are many candidates for player of the day , its hard to look past Ted and George Fishpool for the points they scored , Leeving and Ikechi for some great tackling and Cameron and Dylan for always being there , making the critical ground and motivating the rest of the team to step up .

This should secure Barnet top of the table and a promotion in 2017 . Great job everyone .
