BERFC U15s vs Westcliff

Having had our scheduled game cancelled Westcliff once again came to the rescue so despite the freezing conditions Barnet decided to head to the coast .

Fot those who don't know Westcliff they are one of Essex's strongest sides and their coaching team one of the friendliest . With their A team scheduled to play 1st division Malden Barnet looked to be taking on their Bs . However with the pitches still too frozen at midday Malden opted not to play meaning Barnet played the first half against their Bs and second half agains the As but playing " Rough touch "

Barnet started strongly with their big strike runners Parsa and Dylan taking a wide line with west cliff unable to hold on . Barnet quickly rotated players to even up the game with west cliff just behind at half time .

With conditions improving the Ref allowed a bit more contact in the second half against the much stronger As . Barnet were simply unable to break through the excellent Westcliff defense who were so quick to press despite George Sturley and Dylan Jinmi's best efforts to bully their way through . Whilst Barnet eventually managed to adapt Westcliff were still well in control with their bigger players crashing through the barnet defences .

A last minute try by Leevin Nigimbi brought Barnet within 10 points and made it a respectable scoreline .

Players of the day to George Sturley for his relentless efforts trying to beak through , and to Jacob Hofmann for a solid stint at 9 and great hands plus being lifted for the first time !±
