BERFC U15s vs Enfield

Given the tough game we had on our last visit to Enfield and also that they have been second in the table we expected a difficult game today . However with most of our A team players available Barnet were confident that they could come home with the win today .

The Enfield players certainly didn't disappoint and looked to be Barnet's equal from a physical perspective . Barnet started well , and comfortably winning their first scrum shipped the ball out to cameron who was able to power through the Enfield defence giving barnet an early lead . However Enfield were quick to rally and the remainder of the first half was a slow affair with both teams crashing into each other in the midfield with neither making much ground . On the few occasions when Barnet did break with the ball they were left exposed and either turned over or losing the ball from penalties for not releasing properly .

At half time while Barnet were all looking tired Enfield looked broken and whilst its fair to say they didn't let up for the remained of the match Barnet were able to step up their game and by rotating positions managed to find holes in the Enfield defence .

Having made a few great runs Dylan was now able to break through and a great dummy by Ikechi put barnet clear . The all important bonus pint was earned by Dylan Jinmi in the closing minutes from a penalty just off the Enfield line .

Respect to Enfield for their sportsmanlike behaviour and clean game with many of the players coming up and offering their congratulations . Today was very much a team effort with honourable mentions to Callum for some great rucking , George for an immense effort at centre and then front row ( great to have you back George ) and who could forget Parsa for some superb tackling that stopped Enfield from playing the game they wanted as well as for some great runs .

Player of the day has to be Dylan Jinmi for his determination and great leadership today . Coaches player went to Harry for winning nearly all the scrums today , booth ours and theirs and for some solid rucking .

This result guarantees Barnet to Division 2 next year , which just shows how far we have all come as coaches and players . Great job lads .
