Job done

Todays match was the culmination of all the hard work from players and coaches alike and we should be proud opf what we have achieved .

With some of our key players missing and others playing out of their normal positions Barnet looked very scrappy on the opening minutes with London Welsh punishing them after a well coordinated maul from a line out on the Barnet line putting them ahead at 2mins 30 ! Luckily the driving wind that was going against Barnet made any conversion very difficult . The next 20 minutes were punishing with the good work Barnet were doing in rucking being undone by poor handling and decision making albeit in difficuly conditions . With Zane and Leevin both taken off with injuries Barnet looked to be at best on the back foot . Welsh were certainly a much improved team to the last time we played them and it was only the repeated power of Parsa Mohajer getting the ball out wide to Josh that brought Barnet level at half time .

With the wind in our favour Barnet started strongly in the second half and were unlicky not to get the ball down after another strong run by Parsa in the opening minutes . A nother loose ball saw Welsh make the break down the wing to go ahead in the 8th minute . However it was possibly the sniff of victory that unsettled Welsh with a few decisions going against them and possibly some tempers flaring that saw Barnet start to find their rhythm . Ross was finally able to get the space he needed to stretch his legs and score in the corner with Ted Parker making a superb conversion .

Sadly the wind denied him the penalty goal minutes later which he more than made up for with a great trademark chip and try that we have relied upon . Zane managed to put Barnet clear with a great pick and go at 48 minutes .

With the game in hand Barnet made their substituions only for Welsh to get a second win with a great try after Barnets weakened scrum were not able to compete . Thankfully Barnet were able to maintain possession until the final whistle .

The coaches found it hard to pick a player of the day as there were some great performances from Callum ( my MOM ) , Parsa , Tom , Leevin and Zane but player of the day goes to Ikechi Mere for some superb rucking and turnovers . Victory sees Barnet gaining maximum points with a bonus point at every match !
