Welcome to the U10's Team Page
U10's are for Boys & Girls who are 9 years old at the beginning of September, i.e. in school year 5.
About Us
We have a group of 34 players who regularly turn up to play. We offer structured rugby skills training, as well as regular home and away fixtures against other teams in Hertfordshire and north London.
We cater to children of all abilities - whether they have been playing to a high standard with lots of ability and experience, right the way through to those who have never picked up a rugby ball before. Our ethos is Fun, Fun, Fun and everyone gets to play. We fully embrace and promote the RFU's core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship in everything we do.
Training & Playing
During the season, Sept - May, we usually train on Tuesday evenings, from 1800 - 1900hrs, and play or train every Sunday morning. All 'home games' are played at our ground at Byng Road and training starts at 0945. Please ensure your child has some rugby boots and a mouth guard.
When we have away fixtures, we advise parents in advance (most games are reasonably local). We usually warm up/train for the first half hour and then play a match against the opposition.
We normally finish the season with an end of season tour, somewhere in the UK, which is a great family weekend. During the season we participate in special events, like getting to play matches in front of a capacity crowd at the Saracens StoneX stadium, live on TV; a memory for life for our young players! This year we will be participating in the following 'minis festivals' at the Saracens StoneX Stadium:
U9s & U10s – 25th November – Saracens Men vs Bristol Bears – Gallagher Premiership
Getting involved
If you would like your child to play fun rugby with a great bunch of players (and coaches!), you are very welcome to join us. You can just turn up on Sunday morning and give it a go. There is absolutely no pressure. They can join in for the first few weeks (at the start or at any time during the season) to see if they like it.
If you have any questions at all, or would like to give us advance notice that you are coming, please contact James Fawsitt at jamesfawsitt@hotmail.com
We'd be delighted to see you at the club.
