Today's game was very much a development game for Barnet with most of our A team resting we were hoping for a slightly gentler pace than the game that ensued .

Onlookers might have been slightly confused by our visitors who looked like they had turned up for a league decider .

Let there be no doubt that Finchley were the stronger side , most noticeably in the forwards . Finchley bullied their way over the line after just 2 minutes and were soon 12 points up after a relentless onslaught . It was only after rotating some stronger players on and putting others back in their normal positions that barnet regained their composure putting one over the line in the closing minutes of the first third .

Not much can really be said of the remaining 40 minutes other than at one point Barnet were ahead . When the game finally looked like it might deteriorate into a brawl Barnet opted to finish the game early.

As it was just a development game there was no player of the day award but mentions certainly earn't by Leevin ( we missed you mate ) , Robert and Ed and all of our development should be proud of taking it to a Finchley squad at full strength.

Hopefully both teams benefitted from today , Barnet hopefully learnt not to let a team get under their skin and not under estimate Finchley !
