BERFC U16 Bs vs Harlow

With 11 or our A team players at DPP todays game was an opportunity for valuable game time and a chance for players to try new positions .

After last weeks game what we were all keen to achieve was a clean well disciplined game , and on the whole we achieved this .

In the first quarter Barnet surprisingly held their own in the scrum against a much bigger Harlow squad . Ed Macardle had a solid stint at 15 , louis Macardle looked comfortable at 10 and Ben Green was excellent at 11 making at least 2 try saving tackles . Joseph had a confident session in the second row and by Reece's admission provided the push that gave Barnet the edge .

In the second 15 Barnet nearly kept the slate clean but moving George S out to the backs meant Harlow dominated the rucks .

In the third a great kick and chase by Ed Macardle with ensuing "bundle" by Barnet saw Reece eventually get the ball down over the line .

In the 4th Barnet looked tired and the superb Harlow 14 put 2 more over in the closing minutes .

All that said Barnet should be proud of their performance with so many out of position and against a much physically stronger side . There were some nice moments , in particular from Charlie Northrop who was not only excellent at 10 but who was seen supporting his team mates when their heads looked to be going down .

Coaches player of the day goes to Ed for an excellent effort at 15 , but special mentions to Kasper Salik who played his first ever game today and to Ben green who was played his heart out and whos efforts were echoed by captain George Sturley .
