Great result for the Blues shows how just far we've come .

There has been much discussion amongst the coaching group about whether we should have taken todays fixture but the result shows just how far we have come .

Ealing from the very first email have been incredibly accommodating with managing the fixture and we jointly decided that hey would run the training session . It was great to see all 46 boys mucking in and working together and it was really useful for our coaching team to see how another team do it . We certainly got a great deal from it even if some of our lads weren't used to the tempo and being told what to do !

Barnet opted to play their first 15 in the first half and its fair to say we quickly found our feet . Barnet controlled the game and our passing and overall shape was the best its been to date . Barnet looked to be stronger in the rucks and whist Ealing looked very tidy Barnet's pure determination shone through . Indeed given the strength of the oppo Barnet actually looked quite relaxed and a super line from Thomas Newstead-Smith saw Barnet go up at 4 mins .

Parsa Mohajer was unlucky to score minutes later when he lost his footing on a nice run down the wing but a Barnet Penalty allowed Cameron through to put Barnet 2 up . Cameron was again the key player in clearing the ball on the Barnet line with a precision pass to Josh Bindon-Goss whose pace was too much for Ealing . Another priceless line from dad Bryan NS summed it up beautifully " some players have to wait all their rugby lives for a try like that ! "

Special mention to Tommy who had a superb game at 10 today , their coaches picked him out as their player of the day and were amazed that he is only 14 and to Ed Macardle who single handedly cleared out 4 of the Ealing forwards at one of the breakdowns . Thanks to the Ealing coaches for teaching him that technique !

With our game won and with it being a friendly Barnet chose at half time to rotate on some of their less experienced players making 8 substitutions . Given the tempo of the game up to that point some of the squad let their heads go down and Ealing were swift to capitalise on that . Barnet did lose their shape its true but still held their own and it was well worth it not least for Roberts efforts to climb over the Ealing forwards - " I thought I could take them " , for Oscars brief spell at 6 - " Oscar who ? " , for Parsa's mum who almost broke down when Parsa took a finger to the eye " my boy , my boy " and for Kasper's heroic efforts on the wing .

At the end of the day Barnet looked like a team who can hold their own against one of the best teams in the county . Their head coach was very complimentary after the game and was clearly impressed at how we played as a team .

Player of the day for his pure speed and determination goes to Parsa Mohajer . Great job to all the boys .
