BERFC U16 vs HERTFORD

Today was a real pleasure for all the coaching team to see just how far we have come in the last 2 years . Whilst Hertford were fielding a mix of A and B team players Barnet looked in control throughout the game even with a lot of our A team players absent .

The first half saw some great performances , a few nice moves from Leevin Nigimbi and Parsa Mohajer saw Barnet take a comfortable lead . Having expected Hertford to play a wide game both Allessandro and Jacob put in the tackles to keep Hertford at bay .

The tempo remained consistently high throughout and even without our front row Barnet looked strong in the scrums . At the close of the first half another grey pick and go by Leevin , shipping out to charlie at centre looked to take Barnet 4 up only for Charlie to take a nasty fall twisting his knee . Our thanks to the Hertford medics for their excellent care .

In the second half Hertford brought on some stronger players and were pressing Barnet hard . Some impressive kicks and tackling from Louis Macardle kept Barnet ahead and it was only in the last few minutes that Hertford seemed to lose steam and Barnet were quick to capitalise on it .

So many players deserving of a mention , Leevin and Parsa were both immense , George Sturley kept the team organised throughout as captain and Usman was superb in the front row . However there can be only one and the coaches were unanimous in awarding player of the day to Allessandro Macguinness for some great handling , runs , tackling and all out determination .

It was a pleasure to watch lads , well done !
