BERFC U16 vs Veralaniums

With Gcse mocks , county , injuries and some skivalitus Barnet were struggling to field a team . Luckily Veralaniums had the same problem and so the coaching teams joined together for a joint training and friendly game .

Starting 12 v 12 the Barnet runners were just too quick for the Veralanium lads to keep up and Barnet were ahead in the first 15 seconds .

With the U17s also struggling with numbers even for a training session coaches and parents agreed to allow them to join the veralanium boys and the next 20 minutes showed some great rugby with the ball getting out wide and Barnet unlucky not to score more . Highlight of the first half was Tom Watts epic hand off on his U17 cousin Jack Nash , that ones gonna upset their next meet !

At half time the pace of the game was clearly too much for the U17 volunteers and most sloped off . Respect to those that stayed and who gave it their all , scoring for Veralaniums . A special mention to the superb Veralanium Lad who scored twice for the away team including a great penally driving single handedly through the Barnet defence .

The final 20 mins were a bit scrappy with Barnet playing 12 v 14 .

Player of the match goes to Joe Gallagher who had a great game at 9 , controlling the pace of the game and delivering clean ball every time to Tom at 10 .Special mention to Albert Pointing for breaking his duck with the 16s scoring right at the end of the game .
