Player of the Week - Luca Townend

Great training session focusing on handling, tagging and setting up for defence (SET & WIDE) and offence (ARROWHEAD). Some of the more experienced players made excellent team captains, shouted out their commands and organised the teams.

Some of the older or more experienced players took on the U8’s in an end off session game which ended 16 all, considering the age gap’s, I would chalk that up as a result for the U7 players.

Man of the Match went to Luca Townend who played extremely well for a player with only 3 weeks of game play under his mini Tag Belt.

We did end the session a little early as some of the players were feeling the cold, so an excellent time for me to remind parents to wrap those kids up, as soon as they feel the cold they completely lose interest. So base layers under shirts and shorts, beanie hat to keep the heat in, and most importantly gloves. Also a must for the kit bag is a light weight waterproof jacket, which on match days can go under the shirt.

Talking of match days we have an away game to Hitchin this week. Meet there at the usual time of 10am.

Hitchin RFC, King George V Playing Fields, Old Hade Way, Hitchin SG5 1XL
