Training Report

Thankfully the rain and ice of recent weeks abated on Sunday and we finally had a good run out. With some of the team away to the Stevenage / Enfield triangular, coaches Gary and Adi ran a combined session with the U7s and U8s.

After a thorough warm up, we played a game to focus on our 1st skill for the day; “finding and closing down space”. What started as a ‘chase the Coach with the ball’ game evolved into two teams chasing each other. After a quick drink we then ran a series of races through our obstacle course, focussing in on the 2nd skill; the “basic side-step technique” before breaking into 4 teams to bring these two skills together by playing the “Bulldogs with balls” game. We ended with a good long game of Parent Bulldogs too.

Coaching callouts were the two girls; Sienna and Tia who absolutely nailed the side-step technique in the final Parent Bulldogs game, but player of the day was Jake Turner. Jake combined both skills so well it needed the whole Bulldogs team to chase him down in the end – well done Jake and everyone for running hard and enjoying the mud!
